What I'm focused on

Last updated October 2026. What's a now page?

• Joining Pinterest. I'm joining as a Senior ML Engineer on the Ads team, back to ranking at scale. Until then I'm enjoying the gap.
• Going deep on post-training and evals. Mostly by building: training small vision-language models and the eval harnesses that keep them honest. curbcheck is the current one. The question I keep circling is what makes an eval you can actually trust.
• Making Say Yes to Soup. A cozy, Pokémon-style browser RPG about walking the world's villages and letting culture arrive sideways: through soup, slang, and the small corrections people give you. No combat, no timers, nothing to lose.
• Off the keyboard. New season, so watching too much Arsenal, still trying to stop shanking the ball at padel, and hosting poker night in San Jose.
